Travelin' Mood

Gary Primich

(Flying Fish 70635 CD/90635 CS)

Review for the Folk and Acoustic Music Exchange
by Mark Horn

Austin Texas has become known as the newest center for young blues performers, Gary Primich is one excellent reason. His premiere album for Flying Fish records, Travelin' Mood, is a high energy collection of standards like Shake the Boogie and original songs that will get you up and keep you there.

Gary's harmonica chops are as varied as they are flawless; along with a fine baritone voice, Primich plows fields of tight furrows, if he breaks little new ground. The range of blues styles is wide, from early rhythm and blues to swing and jazz. This is a solo album so the band is solid, but never overpowering.

If you are looking for a good time blues album to light up your summer check out Travelin' Mood, it will get you movin'.
