About the best thing I can tell you about Blue is that Taylor's voice rings true and she plays a mean bass. Outside of that, this solo debut (she has sung with Daddy's band and was part of the Girls with Guitars trio) by Otis Taylor's little girl doesn't spark much interest in these ears. It's your standard blues/pop mix, perhaps a little funkier in spots, but not by much. Here's hoping she cuts out her own path to the top of the heap, but to do that, she's got to try and be a lot more anarchistic like the old man, like his White African (2001), When Negroes Walked The Earth (2000), and this years Contraband.

Track List:

  • Memphis
  • Spoken For
  • Black Coffee
  • Goodbye
  • Bought Borrowed Stolen
  • Keys
  • Make Me Cry
  • Haunted
  • Disappointment
  • Waste of Time
