If, like me, you've been waiting patiently for Mindy Smith to deliver on even half of the promise and potential exhibited on her debut, 'My Holiday' just lengthens your wait time.
Sure it's nice and cozy, playful (in a rather sleepy manner), whispery, delicate (to the point of fragility) and somber at times. Yes, it's nice to hear an artist actually write intelligent 'new' Christmas songs, especially Follow The Shepherd Home and Santa Will Find You. Of course they're nowhere near as immortal as the chestnuts she lazily covers in that little girl soprano that you wish, sincerely wish, would just grow up a little. But you've got to find your redeeming moments where you can.
