A review written for the Folk & Acoustic Music Exchange

Lee has been gathering a lot of ecstatic press with his Blue Note debut, but I've got to say, at the risk of sounding overly curmudgeonly, what we have here is the start of the male, mid-tempo, Norah Jones sound alike sweepstakes.

Soulful? Yes. Easy listening? Certainly. Produced by Norah bassist Lee Alexander, does Norah and the band feature on this disc? Yes, two tracks. Memorable stuff? Hardly.

Track List:

  • Keep it Loose, Keep it Tight
  • Seen it All Before
  • Arms of a Woman
  • Give it Up
  • Dreamin'
  • Soul Suckers
  • Colors
  • Bottom of the Barrel
  • Black River
  • Love in the Lies
  • All My Friends
