Sisters Jeannie, Annie and Marie Burns have created a gentle holiday album relying on their talents as harmony singers. They open the collection with an original Christmas reminiscence, Songs We Love, and follow that up with composed and traditional classics including Little Drummer Boy, Children Go Where I Send Thee, Silent Night, and O Come O Come Emmanuel. Particularly outstanding is their treatment of Shaloo Shalom ("...pray for the peace of Jerusalem" is the chorus). The sisters close the disc with an original children's song for world understanding interwoven with the Tibetan prayer for peace. Tradition is a lovely, understated album that could easily become part of the holiday tradition in many households this winter, and for years to come.
